|
Finally instructions for Dr Mahesh Joshi, Sr Director Doordarshan were issued vide Office Order no. 61/2010-PPC on July 9, 2010 redesignating him as Deputy Director General today. It is learnt that CEO, Prasar Bharati stalled a proposal to redesignate entire cadre of IBPS and IBES as decided by Prasar Bharati Board in 2003. The news has shocked all Officers in both cadres who have been languishing for years for want of a defined Recruitment and Promotion Policy which is one of the main reasons for downslide of AIR & Doordarshan.
It is learnt that Engineering & Programme Staff Associations are holding deliberations to have the Court decision implemented for all cadre officers. However, they are also critical of a miniscule group of deputationist officers who till now have been misruling the media conglomerate as their fiefdom bringing it to its lowest ever ebb. Infact, it was this group against whom the Secretary I & B as per reports, had asked for an internal enquiry to be initiated and responsibility fixed for moving the matter in High Court despite advice by Law Ministry for not pursuing this matter. And if reports are to be believed then CEO’s role in backing such officers against the orders of Ministry are a serious development.
It may be recalled that Group of Ministers has already asked for Recruitment Rules to be framed which have deliberately been put on back burner by bureaucracy for eighteen years. This itself is causing discontent which could have been contained to an extent by implementing Board’s decision in view of Karnataka High Court orders.
After all, the Ministry of I & B is the cadre controlling authority and only they are competent to address the issue and not Prasar Bharati !! Thus they have a larger interest in the growth of professionals which for all obvious reasons have been stifled by elements in Prasar Bharati Secretariat. Would the present dispensation in Ministry take note of this and over rule a diffident CEO ?

Karnatka High Court Upgrades IBPS Cadre !
|
|
In its final verdict in Contempt Petition in OA no. 331/2008, the Karnatka High Court while delivering its decision ensured that the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting passes down instructions for upgrading Dr. Mahesh Joshi, Sr Director as Deputy Director General in Doordarshan by July 14, 2010. The Court was assured that necessary instructions had already been issued by the Secretary, I & B to CEO, Prasar Bharati and DG, Doordarshan for compliance. Assuring the Court, M Ravindran, ASG stated that the petitioner would be redesignated and copy of office order placed before the Court.
This brings curtains on the ambiguity created by Prasar Bharati on placing junior officers on deputation above the departmental officers despite their grades/scales being either equal or below. This had been causing consternation in the IBPS cadre which was long demanding fair play and honour in its services which was approved by Prasar Bharati Board as far back as 2003. Even in the instant case, it is learnt that two prominent officers on deputation in Doordarshan opposed the High Court ruling and even allegedly mislead the Ministry officials to go in for Appeal which was once for all decided by Secretary. Not only has this, sources in the Ministry also confirmed that the Secretary had asked for responsibility to be fixed on Officers who despite Ministry’s opposition and Law Ministry’s advice, went ahead in the Court and invited Contempt proceedings. It is believed the time bound enquiry is being held up in Prasar Bharati Secretariat for reasons only CEO knows !
While this shall have a cascading effect where the present DDGs ( those in the scale of Joint Secretary, GOI) shall have to be elevated as ADGs to maintain seniority and all junior officers brought up in the cadre bringing in relief to many stagnated officers for years.

Prasar Bharati Reduces Judiciary Ineffective !
|
|
How could a current Member, Prasar Bharati Board go against its own Board’s majority decision which was subsequently upheld by Delhi High Court that entire day to day functioning of AIR & Doordarshan shall be looked after by a Three Member Committee comprising of Member-Personnel, Member-Finance and the Executive Member (CEO) ? All were placed equal by the Court.
This has a reference to Muzaffar Ali, a newly appointed Member of Board who is presently in Lucknow attending a meeting of Urdu knowing staffers for initiating in house productions in the language. Giving him company is B S Lalli, CEO and Aruna Sharma, DG both from the IAS. While it would be a certainty that the duo of Lalli and Aruna would not have made the facts known to Muzaffar Ali but did he not know the proceedings of the previous decisions ? It cannot be believed that the much talked about High Court order too is not known to him !
Piqued by this, a letter has been issued by other two Members vide 9/2/2009-PBB-Part dated June 17, 2010 cautioning all DDGs in both AIR & Doordarshan that they were party to serious “Contempt of Court proceedings” if they carried on business with a single Member defying the Court’s directions. This is reminder to a previous Office Order no. PBS/M (F)/Misc.(DP) 2009/ 1061 dt. Nov. 27, 2009 where also the decisions were conveyed to officers. It further says that Contempt proceedings for “ disobedience” are already proceeding against B S Lalli, CEO in the Delhi High Court.
This should also be an oblique caution to the part time Member who too could be pulled up for this brazen defiance to the Board as well as the Court in pursuing matters contrary to High Court’s directives. Muzaffar Ali, who has just one film to his name and a failed attempt to enter Parliament, is a part time painter and organizer of annual Sufi music festival, has cashed his name enough should be careful while dealing with or supporting shenanigans which is bound to cause him embarrassment. While a section of media is already talking about his personal and commercial interests in Commissioning programmes in Doordarshan, he needs to be advised to steer out of this quagmire before accusations start flying !
Rather he should be a party to restrain B S Lalli, CEO from doing things contrary to Board’s decisions and High Court orders and advice Aruna Sharma,DG accordingly instead of partnering them !!

Perhaps one of the saddest men in country today despite having 24 hour power and water supply with no strain of inflation on his riches, Lalit Modi is sulking in his favourite corner. Might sound absurd but the fact is that a person so used to hog camera lights and known for his babbelings amidst his well schemed controversies, he is cursing Anderson ( of Bhopal infame ) to be the cynosure of all brickbats this nation is so accustomed at throwing !
Unlike other silent crusaders, Lalit Modi has penchant for going overboard creating fissures and acrimony thus creating a space for his mercurial effusions putting him in the first row. While he proved his point that he was not the only one doing wrong, the entire BCCI and IPL bodies were wrong doers, lotus eaters and capricious to all that went on for these years.
Maverick that he is, long back while attending to a case concerning Modi Entertainment Network outside Chamber One at Supreme Court against Prasar Bharati, he charged at the then CEO calling him the " most corrupt IAS " and went off ! A flabbergasted CEO before he could retort he had vanished by then.
Modi who was eyeing a Rajya Sabha berth by threatening all to expose their deeds and money making rackets was continuously supporting Sharad Pawar despite his established nexus. But for the sudden medical operation of controversial politician, he could not realize his dream like Vijay Mallaya !
By the way, why investigating authorities are suddenly silent over Venu Nair’s admission that 80 million Pounds were paid underhand and those who know him say that he would not tell lies. A known ‘kamzor kadi’ Venu Nair was an employee of Harish Thawani once and a frequent visitor to Doordarshan Sports Cell, had always been an ambitious person who, as per old timers, would go astray for small gains ! Perhaps that might bring Lalit Modi back to life and in focus.

GOM Questions B S Lalli

The buzz is that an exasperated Mrinal Pandey, Chairperson, Prasar Bharati Board is said to have written a letter to P Chidambram,Union Home Minister who is also the Head of GOM which deals with Public Service Media over intentional delay by B S Lalli, CEO on release of Minutes for all meetings. Resultantly no future meetings can take place unless the Minutes are finalized by Chairperson and issued subsequently by B S Lalli. But he does not want to do that. This has always been a contentious area in Prasar Bharati and this CEO refuses to tow Board decisions. Even the Delhi High Court in its judgment had asked the CEO to adhere to Board decisions and maintain a special Register where proper mentions were made and rules followed. But thanks to B S Lalli, who has now become synonymous with disagreeing with everyone including the Courts. The displeasure by Home Minister, as being said, might bring in good effect !! Though like all previous times, this time too he readily agreed to issue Minutes and hold the next Meeting in July. Would he ?
These Minutes it may be recalled concern Board’s majority decision to clip the wings of CEO for utter mismanagement and where a three Member Committee was asked to be constituted to handle all matters. This Committee besides the CEO would have Member-Finance and Member-Personnel as equal Members. But B S Lalli does not want others to interfere in his decisions which are already under CVC scanner. It is reported that he adopted delaying tactics and continues going against all decisions.
How could a Government functionary go against the Prasar Bharati Act, and allowed to defy judgments of High Courts and taking every Ministerial directive as interference ! There have been series of questions raised in Parliament on his inefficiency and financial irregularities where the Minister was seen to be at her discomfort defending him. Who is throwing weight behind him to continue this defiance-business and making a mockery of entire system? Shastri Bhawan is always abuzz and functionaries keep enquiring on the number of questions Parliament has sent concerning him !
A senior bureaucrat quipped that while Government can justify its political compulsions in having corrupt allies, but what reason do they have in continuing with a controversial officer like B S Lalli for so long ? Now who will answer?

LOCKHEED MARTIN F-35 STOVL VARIANT FLIES SUPERSONIC
|
|
The Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] F-35 Joint Strike Fighter short takeoff/vertical landing (STOVL) variant flew faster than the speed of sound for the first time June 10, achieving a significant milestone. The aircraft accelerated to Mach 1.07 (727 miles per hour) on the first in a long series of planned supersonic flights.
“For the first time in military aviation history, supersonic, radar-evading stealth comes with short takeoff/vertical landing capability,” It is claimed by Bob Price, Lockheed Martin’s F-35 U.S. Marine Corps program manager. “The supersonic F-35B can deploy from small ships and austere bases near front-line combat zones, greatly enhancing combat air support with higher sortie-generation rates.” The F-35B will enter service for the Marines, the United Kingdom’s Royal Air Force and Royal Navy, and the Italian Air Force and Navy.
The supersonic milestone was achieved on the 30th flight of the F-35B known as BF-2. U.S. Marine Corps pilot Lt. Col. Matt Kelly climbed to 30,000 feet and accelerated to Mach 1.07 in the off-shore supersonic test track near Naval Air Station Patuxent River. Future testing will gradually expand the flight envelope out to the aircraft’s top speed of Mach 1.6, which the F-35 is designed to achieve with a full internal weapons load of more than 3,000 pounds. All F-35s are designed to launch internal missiles at maximum supersonic speed, as well as launch internal guided bombs supersonically. During the flight, Kelly accomplished 21 unique test points, including several Integrated Test Blocks to validate roll, pitch, yaw and propulsion performance.
BF-2 is the third F-35 to achieve supersonic flight. Two F-35A conventional takeoff and landing variants also have broken the sound barrier.
The F-35 program has about 900 suppliers in 45 states, and directly and indirectly employs more than 127,000 people. Thousands more are employed in the F-35 partner countries, which have invested more than $4 billion in the project. Those countries are the United Kingdom, Italy, the Netherlands, Turkey, Canada, Australia, Denmark and Norway.
Three F-35 variants are under development – the F-35A CTOL variant to replace U.S. Air Force F-16s and A-10s, as well as aircraft employed by seven allied nations; the F-35B STOVL variant to replace U.S. Marine Corps AV-8B Harriers and F/A-18s, U.K. Royal Air Force and Royal Navy Harrier GR.7s, GR.9s and Sea Harriers, and Italian Harriers; and the F-35C carrier variant to replace U.S. Navy F/A-18s.
The F-35 Lightning II is a 5th generation fighter, combining advanced stealth with fighter speed and agility, fully fused sensor information, network-enabled operations, advanced sustainment, and lower operational and support costs. Lockheed Martin is developing the F-35 with its principal industrial partners, Northrop Grumman and BAE Systems. Two separate, interchangeable turbofan engines are under development: the Pratt & Whitney F135 and the GE Rolls-Royce Fighter Engine Team F136.
Headquartered in Bethesda, Md., Lockheed Martin is a global security company that employs about 136,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services. The Corporation reported 2009 sales of $45.2 billion.

MOH FAROOK takes action against ‘tainted’ IAS Officers

The buzz is that Governor M O H Farook has taken action against at least a dozen tainted government officials. Among those against whom action has been initiated is IAS officer BHAGWAN PRASAD, Managing Director of the Jharkhand Mineral Development Corporation, who was facing the charge of regularising the services of 30 daily wage employees without requisite permission from the competent authority. He has been placed under suspension.
Another IAS officer, ALOK GOYAL, Additional Secretary in the department of Institutional Finance, who was facing a number of corruption charges, including one relating to destroying a voucher amounting to Rs 1.5 lakh as Director of the Social Welfare department, has been booked and official proceedings initiated against him.

Verma’s prudent financial management and strategic deployment of scarce resources strengthened the competitive position of BHEL. As Director/Finance of BHEL since September 2005, Mr. Verma also had the distinction of spearheading the joint venture initiatives of the company with various state GENCOs. His efforts resulted in the signing of four such agreements with Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra that would leverage the sale of 7 supercritical thermal power plants of BHEL. He also played a key role in the finalisation of various technology agreements of BHEL with Alstom, Siemens, GE and Sheffield Forgemasters. Spanning nearly 29 years, Verma’s career profile also covers stints as Director (Finance) of ITI Ltd., as Group General Manager of Indian Railway Finance Corporation, and as General Manager of Delhi Stock Exchange (DSE), besides experience of working in a Financil Institution for about nine years. He likes to smirk in adversities which he is fond of creating. This time also he has created a situation out of sheer vengeful ferocity which has made him waft in air. Despite blacking out Prime Minister for third time and unmindful of all the controversies of his poor leadership, he was in fact more perturbed by the missive Suman Dubey, an important Member of Prasar Bharati Board had released last time. It was that devastating letter which questioned the Agenda unauthorisedly prepared by DG and where he asked the CEO to be prepared for the Board Meeting instead of taking help of juniors.
The meeting which was to have taken place in the first week as decided, has been postponed and B S Lalli is said to be mighty elated over “showing Suman Dubey his place”. He is also reported to be saying that he is going to cause dissensions in the Board by inviting Members for “parties and get togethers” and win them over for his kind of schemes! He is sounding like Lalit Modi these days rather more boisterous and making Members feel like his acolytes!
If the news trickling down in Prasar Bharati Secretariat is of substance then B S Lalli has taken real ‘panga’ with 10 Janpath directly. And this no one, howsoever mighty, has dared to do till now. But BS Lalli known for blind eyed moves has been in trouble for many wrong reasons earlier, has reported to become very vocal in his negativity and assertions lately. But why did an erudite of Suman Dubey’s stature agreed to be just a Member? And why after all he has to be at BS Lalli’s receiving end ? Surely he would say “ Mea culpa”.
If that be the case then what role Mrinal Panday, Chairperson is also playing ? She has still not come out of her Anchor-ing times and remains silent most of times. Does she need to be reminded of her role and its duties where she has to perform! The corridors are abuzz with tid bits but that’s all is left of Prasar Bharati under this Board now !

|
|
Great....he has done it again ! While all speculated on the Prasar Bharati Board meeting to take place and resolve issues pending since over two years, this gutsy CEO B.S.Lalli has managed to pull out a surprise none could fathom. Just two meetings, as reported, with Mrinal Panday, Chairperson, Prasar Bharati Board and it was off! He does know how to decimate his opponents and plays by his rules only. Remember when it was reported that he ticked the present Minister for not siding by him or when he, as claimed by media again, was instrumental in getting Anand Sharma elevated for supporting him !!
What transpired none knows.... but the Chairperson it is being said, succumbed before the pressure he generated on her. Even that high profile Member, Suman Dubey who wanted a meeting in the first week of June, will start liking what humble pies are made of ! And once more he proved that he had an unequal match of wits and propensity to conspire! While his wily persona is still abhorred by all but he, who has the last laugh is surely a winner.
With so much around and the level of talent he oozes in creating situations suiting his rotund size (pun intended ), does he not think that he is wasting energies flogging a dead horse in Prasar Bharati? Surely, he would love to go to better places which truthfully speaking, he should.

Who Remembers Doordarshan Manual ?
|
|
AIR & Doordarshan besides regular transmission is also responsible for promotion of regional and local talents in all spheres of arts. This was one of the major functions of Public Service Broadcast. This is as enshrined in the five volume Manual which none of the bureaucrats know of it even! It was based on these edicts that all programming and its administration used to be devised. The present dispensation of bureaucrats so engrossed in approval of Tenders, selection of Feature films, Commissioned serials and self glorification have not fathomed that television is much beyond these mundane exercises they were wasting their energies on. Or perhaps the lure for lucre, as being generally alleged, is the only guiding spirit than any other thing....!!
Sports coverage are in shambles. No major sports are visible or covered on Doordarshan anymore. Fault not at the execution level but the management which has utterly failed to bag rights for prime events. They have lost interest in doing things themselves and fill the organization with pride. Gone are the times when Doordarshan would contend for International Hockey events, BCCI matches, Davis Cup et el and there would be business queries and viewers making beeline to witness events. Nor the Rural sports which it was mandated to have promoted find any place in its schedules.
Even the promotion to budding talents in commentaries and anchoring has been relegated as an obsolete exercise. Incidentally, it still encourages one sports commentator of very average levels who otherwise would never go beyond a regional Badminton or Kabaddi match earlier just because he happens to be a Member of Prasar Bharati Board ? Not only this, the number of engagements and payments made if are accounted for, would this be termed as misuse of position?
Certainly it could be but when so much has happened without an eyebrow being raised would anything be done here! More than this, a senior officer in Shastri Bhawan quipped, while A Raja could not be disturbed because of coalition understanding, what understanding they have with B S Lalli, CEO and Aruna Sharma, DG that tons of muck created by them, has been ignored ?

AMBIKA SONI’s lack luster performance in year one of UPA?
|

Its been almost a year since Ambika Soni took over. And yet she has failed to stem the rot seeped in Prasar Bharati. Nor has she devised any mechanism whereby a more promising picture emerges in AIR and Doordarshan. While she maintains a posture of setting things right and control a belligerent Management headed by B S Lalli, CEO her contributions have not exceeded few political statements ! Professionals who heaved a sigh of relief after the exit of Anand Sharma are equally perturbed with her. Moreover after her lack lustre and controversial performance in Ministry of Culture she had an excellent opportunity to leave her mark which is yet to start !
Sources in her own Ministry comment that she has not been able to rein in the CEO nor assuring the nation that Prasar Bharati Board meetings would be held regularly and do constructive business. With Commonwealth Games looming and the host broadcaster mired in trivial issues, its questionable performance in coverage of important events have raised credibility quotient.
As usual, it is learnt that B S Lalli, CEO making full use of situation is playing with Rules and avoiding to hold Board meetings. If one asks for details of all Board meetings since he took over three years back and quantum of action taken would shame the Parliament who made this Act! With millions going down drains and CEO and his handful of supporters in minority are in fact playing a role which Opposition would have loved to do - stalling all saner business!
Why Board meetings are not being held despite Chairperson demanding is being attributed to the fact that the Minutes prepared by B S Lalli, CEO for a supposed meeting held on November 18, 2009 have not been ratified by Board. Reason, he held the Meeting after the main meeting got over and after the departure of Chairperson, Addl Secretary of I & B, and four more Members. While all meetings held are audio recorded the latter portion of this meeting, which he took in his room was not recorded. And the Board has spurned his circulated Minutes asking them to be prepared as per audio evidence only.
But why these minutes are so important. Peeved at being stripped off all authority, B S Lalli in this meeting decided “that all powers are restored to the CEO” !! This has been objected to by all other (majority) Members that minutes held without Chairperson and Ministry representative was nothing but forgery and fraud done by CEO. More shocking that DG Doordarshan, who is the representative of Ministry has sided with CEO for her own ends. The other two Members are reported to be acting as his side kicks not enjoying any standing at all.
In the last meeting Suman Dubey, an important Member had categorically asked for postponement because the Agenda prepared by DG was incomplete and not acceptable which as per norms has to be prepared by Member-Personnel..........
There is confusion. Professionals are stifled with all this. Corruption on maximum and Public Service Broadcast has lost its credibility and viewers...do we really need this defunct Prasar Bharati being manned by bunch of bureaucrats who have misused the Act of Parliament ? Or is the Minister in league with them? Will the Prime Minister rescue AIR & Doordarshan and let it be run by professionals....or is it the end for Public Service Broadcast!

Doordarshan does it again. The much awaited press conference of Prime Minister eulogizing the achievements of UPA 2 which was being prepared for long was botched up at Vigyan Bhawan today. Dr. Manmohan Singh who was interacting on important issues with Media was blacked out for more than four minutes and an eagerly awaiting nation hoping for some policy statement on the Live telecast had to be contended with a studio announcer ! This is the third such instance when this Prime Minister has been blacked out by B.S.Lalli, CEO, Prasar Bharati.
It is the gravest lapse which besides many shortcomings in arrangements made for such an important event, the DG, Doordarshan failed on many counts. There was no provision for an alternate arrangement which is mandatory for such telecasts nor did she make use of powerful generator stationed permanently at Vigyan Bhawan. It was as it allowed to happen willfully.
Doordarshan which was the official broadcaster for the event, was being taken Live by all news channels in the country who suddenly had to splash their captions of ‘Feed being disrupted at Doordarshan end’. It made a mockery of Doordarshan’s professional credentials while it underlines the question once again, as to why not the professionals given free hand instead of maiming an organization known for its chequered history.
It is learnt that a visibly angry Media Advisor to Prime Minister frantically tried to put people on right track but a trifle too late. It is all the more shocking that despite the presence of B S Lalli, CEO, Aruna Sharma, DG and B M Bakshi, Director-Delhi Kendra, situation was allowed to slip. Sources from the OB spot confirm that it was the CEO and DG who had taken control of Live telecast despite their lack of job knowledge which worsened situation. Reports of their constant directions to staff and instructions to carry their video profiles alongwith that of Prime Minister distracted staff.

It may be recalled that B M Bakshi was earlier shifted out to Imphal for reportedly major wrongdoings in Sport telecasts by the then Minister, Priyaranjandas Munshi. It was also revealed in the Ministry then, that an OSD to a Minister in BJP government, he had sabotaged many functions of Congress party. It was later at the instance of B S Lalli and Aruna Sharma who both rehabilitated him on this important assignment which till date is shrouded in secrecy. It is a matter of interest that Aruna Sharma too has close links with BJP in her state and the camaraderie she enjoyed with anyone against the present regime is well known. And while BJP spoke about all corrupt activities it refrained talking about B S Lalli despite High Court castigating him can well be understood!
The deliberately planned move by the CEO to salvage his tattered image has brought in numerous brickbats for Public Servicce Broadcast. This is serious breach of conduct and improper for CEO and DG, who were holding reins for such an important Live telecast never done before. Channels taking feed were flummoxed over this self propagation exercise never heard of earlier. The erring Director here too is reported to have passed on instructions to promote CEO the maximum albeit at the cost of Prime Minister!
This has raised serious questions on Doordarshan’s efficacy and preparedness for ensuing Commonwealth Games, touted as “Pride of India”. As the officially nominated Host Broadcaster for these Games, it has been mired in controversies ranging from corruption to gross ineptitude ever since the duo of present CEO and DG have taken over. Their constant bickerings with Prasar Bharati Board and brazen defiance of directives have put the entire plan in jeopardy. There are allegations of Rules being flouted by illogical interpretations in sanctioning of high budgeted Commissioned serials and personally selected Feature Films, where reports coming to Shastri Bhawan suggest of a bigger scam taking place these days.

While a concerned Minister and equally well meaning Chairperson, Prasar Bharati Board are trying to bring semblance in organization but iniquitous forces are reported to be creating a situation where defiance is becoming order of the day !!
Like all previous times, this time too Doordarshan will absolve bureaucrats at fault and blame some machine or electronic equipment for the blackout but should not this happening three times in succession needs a thorough investigation? Is it a sabotage to prepare ground for complete bureaucratic take over of Prasar Bharati or CEO and DG are trying to weed out some forces they are scared of on the technical side where high value Tenders were cynosure of all discerning eyes recently ?
But why Dr. Manmohan Singh is being blacked out time and again by his chosen officer? And why Sonia Gandhi’s UPA has to face dissension from minions from an unexpected quarter? The Prasar Bharati Board shall have to come down heavily on this duo and withdraw all professional powers they have been misusing till now. No doubt, Ambika Soni’s task becomes complex and she has to perform this time.

Prime Minister spoke at length on UPA's achievements under his leadership. He extolled the high points his government scaled and dwelled on future course. He was candid enough to accept that corruption was spreading and the State was seized with this. He assured that his Government did not interfere in the functioning of CBI which in fact worked in tandem with CVC only. That was all okay.
While this was being televised Live all over, viewers on the national hook up were irritated to see another Sardarji in the inset. His picture kept appearing on few important occasions distracting viewers from the visuals of Prime Minister. It so happened that some viewers rang up Doordarshan’s control room enquiring about the person being shown repeatedly along with Prime Minister which was not only unethical but mischievous too. How could anyone be equated with Prime Minister, was the question being asked by callers.
As it happened, the person was none other than B S Lalli, CEO, Prasar Bharati who too was found seated in the front row. And this was an opportunity of lifetime for him to assert his presence on the National circuit and salvage his image by associating with the Hon’ble Prime Minister. Though a clever manipulation by B S Lalli and his henchman in Kendra, it has left many baffled on how could an official have the termity to equate with PM which has caused embarrassment to all. And above all, why B M Bakshi, Director Doordarshan Centre who was monitoring the OB van personally instructed staff to carry the shot repeatedly? Isnt he the same officer who was sent on punishment posting to Imphal for wrongdoings earlier?
Would Ambika Soni express her helplessness again like all previous times ?
